Day 1 : Heroes Take Action!

Today the children were introduced to our Hero Headquarters and our theme today was “Heroes take ACTION.” The children were challenged to ‘act’ on what they have learnt, and follow God by doing what He says.

The children learnt about Jonah, who didn’t obey God straight away, but later sought repentance and followed God’s commands.

Our memory verse was “Jesus said, if you love me, keep my commandments” John14:15.

Electives

We were also able to enjoy some great “Big group Games” and today’s involved making your superhero out of newspaper.

The children were offered electives such as food craft, craft, flying fun and woodwork. They enjoyed hot dogs for lunch, and lots of games and singing. We were incredibly blessed with a fine day, after waking to a drizzly morning here in Barden Ridge.

At the end of the day, there were some fun food competition games in which the kids were blindfolded and needed to rescue maltesers..

Day 2: Heroes step out in Faith!

The drama team used their creative ideas to teach the children about faith, and “Stepping out in FAITH.” This led into lesson time where the children learnt about the centurion, who had great faith in Jesus, and took him at His word, believing his servant would be healed.

Our memory verse for today was John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.”

The children completed a choice of 2 electives from food craft, sport, dance and woodwork. The children loved these, and we have been so blessed by the many elective leaders and helpers that have prepared these activities and made it all happen.

We all shared wraps for lunch and enjoyed spending extra time at lunchtime interacting and playing games in the sunshine with the children.

Day 3: Heroes stand up for Truth!

Heroes stand up for Truth!

Today, we learnt about Daniel, who stood up for truth even though it meant he was sent to the lion’s den. Standing up for truth can be done in many different ways and this was something that we talked to the children about in today’s lesson.

We also enjoyed more big group games – and today the kids needed to act out different super heroes in their groups.

Electives

The Electives were a big hit once again from : Flying Fun (making catapults), Sport, Craft (squishy balls and SuperHero pencil holder) and Just Dance!

Just Dance was loved by everyone!

Today, SuperHero Ben (also known as Honorable, Handsome, Honest etc…) – took to the oval with a t-shirt covered in lollies chased by the hungry hordes!

And… we had Pizza for lunch!
